The mother of an in a mass man shooting in Southeast D.C. on Saturday let WTOP know that her child maintained three sources of income to help his family and expected to be a good example for youngsters.

“I can’t communicate to you how much my child intended to the local area,” Tempie Satcher said. “BJ was a genuine good example for us all.”

Bernard “BJ” Hodges, 35, was distinguished as one of three people killed in a shooting Saturday in the 1600 block of Good Expectation Street around 8:30 p.m. Tymea Cook, 27, of Southeast D.C., and Reginald Gilbert, 34, of no long-lasting area, were distinguished as the others.

As per D.C. police, two extra people were harmed in the shooting.

Hodges was knowledgeable on the junction of sixteenth Road and Great Expectation Street. He would toss picnics and “feed the folks out there in the city”. It made a difference a ton to him to guarantee that nobody locally went hungry.

Satcher asserted that the evening of the shooting, Hodges had recently dropped his children off at her home prior to rolling over to the intersection he regularly visited. Satcher guaranteed that his companions illuminated her that “he was in a tough spot since he had quite recently gotten out there.”
